#TBT Throwback Thursday: The Tivoli, Fortitude Valley 2010

10 years ago I had the privilege of being asked to do some photography shoots at The Tivoli in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane. One of the best parts of this was being able to visit the venue for a test shoot a few days in advance while we discussed the format of the upcoming event.

If you’re not familiar with The Tivoli, it has just past it’s 100th birthday having been built in 1917. First operating as a bakery it then moved into housing rare books as part of The State Library. When Expo ‘88 hit town it was reopened with new owners as The Tivoli Restaurant and Theatre. The new look was modelled around the cabaret theatre, the Paradis Latin in Paris and featured gorgeously rich Art Deco finishes.
